Frequently Asked Questions (1)

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions I get. If you still have any queries then please don’t hesitate to get in contact here.

The concept originally derived fromwhere loving
families would use it to send cakes to soldiers stationed overseas.

Transport was a problem due to the delicate nature of cake. However, they were able to overcome this obstacle thanks to the mighty jar.

I took this concept and refined it and have been creating Cakes in jars since 2014.

Please note that all of our cakes are baked in our kitchen which handles peanuts, gluten (wheat) and soya.

Whilst we don’t use any milk or egg in our cakes, our ingredients may contain milk or egg due to manufacturing methods used. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that our products will be 100% trace free of allergens.

We are currently working on a gluten free range and we’re always in need of testers so if this is something of interest, please contact us!

No. You can order one jar if you like.

The cakes don’t have any alcohol in them. However, I may sometimes do a cheeky rum cake around Christmas time! If any of the seasonal cakes contain alcohol then it will be clearly displayed in the list of ingredients with an additional warning on the product page.

The more notice, the better.

Typically I need at least 2 weeks notice for large or bespoke orders. I would class a large order as anything over 12 jars however if you are having a last minute crisis please still give me a shout and I will do my best to help you.

Any orders placed before 11am will be freshly baked and dispatched the same working day.

Orders placed after 11am on a working day will not be baked until the following working day and then dispatched on that same day.

In the interest of keeping your cakes fresh, shipping operates strictly on a Next Day service.

That means that any order placed after 11am on a Thursday will not be dispatched until the following Monday.

If you have any questions or would like to pay for a Saturday delivery instead, please get in contact with me to arrange this.

In July 2018 I decided to make a change and go 100% Plant based. It was a decision that wasn’t taken lightly but has been received with overwhelming support.

All of the recipes have been extensively tested on and approved by non vegans and vegans alike.
Most can’t even tell the difference 😉

The jars are best stored in the fridge for up to 10 days or can be frozen for up to 1 month. They are pretty tasty eaten either chilled or room temperature, if you dont like them cold then just take them out of the fridge 2 hours before consumption.

Our couriers currently deliver to mainland UK, Channel Islands, Scottish Highlands, Offshore Islands and Northern Ireland.

You should still accept the delivery from the courier. Upon inspection of the goods, if there is anything you are unhappy with please inform me as soon as possible so that I can resolve it for you.

Any pictures of the damage would also be very helpful!
